I LOVE snacks! Snacks are also a great way to keep your blood sugar stable, keep you from starving and keep you running without neon colored energy drinks!

I am also a lazy bum! Sometimes! A lot of times! So here are some easy snack ideas that are great for your health, keeping fat off AND that require little to no prep!



Nuts are high in protein, omega 3 fatty acids and fiber, which make them the ideal snack. All nuts however are not built the same. Pistachios and almonds are low in fat and calories and high in all the aforementioned good stuff!

On the other end of the spectrum we have macadamia and pecans and the likes. These nuts aren’t as bad as a snickers bar but they are high in fat and calories so they are less than ideal.

One last note: avoid excessively processed nuts. Nuts that are heavily salted, carmelized and cooked in oil add an excess amount of fat, sugars and calories. Instead reach for minimally processed nuts that keep you and you heart healthy!


Fruity Combinations!

This headline was not as funny as the last one and I am sorry. Fruit however is a great snack option. Fruit however leaves many people unsatisfied. Considering most fruits are between 80-90% water this is a reasonable feeling.

So here are some healthy options that can be paired with fruit that can leave you a bit more satisfied.

Almond Butter

Remember what I said about almonds being so great? Yeah? well they make butter out of it now! Amazing! Try it, if you hate its its all my fault and peanut butter is the next best option with a little higher fat and sugar content.

Try apples with almond butter

Cottage Cheese

Protein on Protein Bro! Cottage Cheese has plenty of protein and also plenty of micronutrients. If you like the taste and your body responds well to dairy products, you are going to be one healthy son of a cow!

Try Pineapples and Cottage Cheese


The greatest spread on the planet according to half of the asian subcontinent! Made from chickpeas, lemon and olive oil! If you have never tried hummus- GO NOW.

Try Carrots and hummus


Greek Yogurt

I have been considering getting the Chobani logo tattooed on my face but my mother would not approve so…no face tattoo. Greek yogurt is my friend and my favorite snack. Greek yogurt is low in fat, low in calories and high in protein and micronutrients. IT ALSO TASTES AMAZING! There is a moderate level of sugar in many of fruity greek yogurt products. I firmly believe however this is a modest tradeoff for its benefits and if your body responds well to dairy products. Best of all, brands like Chobani have made a high quality product, at a low cost, with no time needed to prepare. Greek yogurt is life.
